Mondu

Stadt: Berlin, BE
Vertragstyp: Ganztags

About the Role

Only four years after entering the market, Mondu is one of Europe’s leading B2B payments providers. Now live across 30+ markets, trusted by ambitious companies, and operating with an EMI license, we’re expanding our commercial footprint in Europe and beyond.

To support our Risk Management efforts, we are now looking for a Risk Operations Analyst to play an integral part in our dynamic Risk Management department in Berlin. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in safeguarding our financial stability and ensuring sound credit risk management practices. They will play a pivotal role in assessing, analyzing, and managing credit risks associated with our operations.

This is a high-impact role for a structured, operational problem solver who enjoys managing consistent daily workflows and wants to see their insights turn into real-time product changes.

What You’ll Do

As a Risk Operations Analyst, you will work closely with the credit risk team to drive the performance of our product suite (BNPL, factoring, etc.).

  • Credit Decisioning: You will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of our merchants, as well as of the buyers in their platforms through regular daily operations.
  • Stakeholder Support: You will support ad-hoc requests from both internal and external stakeholders, applying strong business acumen to resolve fast-moving commercial requests.
  • Data Analysis: You will use SQL and Python/R to extract insights from vast datasets, identifying trends in borrower behavior and macroeconomic shifts.
  • Decisioning: You will spearhead our strategic decisioning for our most valued transactions.
  • Policy Refinement: Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to steer the development of our underwriting policy and score cards that optimize for both conversion and risk.

What You Need to Succeed

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science).
  • Solid technical skills in:
    • SQL: Proficiency in querying large databases is a must.
    • Business Intelligence: Experience with BI tools - ideally Metabase or a similar tool.
    • Programming: Foundational knowledge of Python or R for data manipulation.
  • At least 1 year of (internship) experience in a credit or financial analyst role.
  • Strong understanding of factoring, credit risk or similar functions.
  • Business acumen to effectively support internal commercial teams on daily queries.
  • Comfortable with learning and growing through managing repetitive and routine tasks and workflows.
  • Inquisitive mindset, plus interest in learning new methodologies and AI tools.
  • Solid interpersonal skills to help you deal with stakeholders across the business.
  • You are ambitious, curious and resilient with a can-do attitude, always with a suggestion for a solution.
  • You thrive in teams within a fast-paced and dynamic environment (change is the norm, not the exception).

It would be a plus if you have:

  • Previous work experience in banking or finance.
  • Familiarity with companies' financial statements.

What's in it for you?

  • €1000 per year for you to contribute to your learning & development to help you grow professionally and personally.
  • €300 per year for you to endorse team build, including dinners, games, and events.
  • 28 vacation days per year (increasing 1 day every year up to 30).
  • We welcome you to our office in the center of Berlin 3+ days a week.
  • Take advantage of our Workation policy, allowing for up to 6 weeks every year of work outside of Germany (some restrictions apply).
  • Subsidised gym membership to boost your physical and mental well-being.
  • Public transport allowance and tax relief for payments into our Business Bike scheme.
  • You can accelerate your career and take ownership of your work and development in a flat hierarchy where 360 feedback is encouraged.

Are you a Monduneer in disguise?

Working in a truly diverse group makes us stronger and more resilient. Furthermore, it enables an unfair advantage - the opportunity to learn from each other, see different perspectives, and consider a broader range of variables in our decision-making. That is what being a Monduneer is all about.

Thus, regardless of your background, age, disability, gender, parental status, race, religion, sexual orientation, educational background, or any other aspect you feel is a statement of your diversity, we look forward to discussing your role in mind.

If you believe you are a Monduneer in disguise, and it's time for you to shine, submit your application, and we'll take it from there.
