As Production Manager, you will assume full operational responsibility for our manufacturing operations in Pforzheim, with a strong focus on quality, on-time delivery, efficiency, and team leadership. Reporting directly to the Site Managing Director, you will play a key role in driving organizational development and continuous improvement. The production department comprises approximately 250 employees and operates a highly complex machinery park with 220 CNC machines.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management of CNC Production

• Lead and coordinate all CNC manufacturing activities (milling, turning, grinding, EDM) in a multi-shift operation.
• Ensure smooth, timely, and high-quality production processes.
• Monitor and optimize machine availability, capacity utilization, and overall production efficiency.
• Manage a highly complex machinery base of 220 state-of-the-art CNC machines.
  
  

Team Leadership & Development

• Directly manage a production team of approximately 250 employees, including shift supervisors and team leads.
• Foster a team-oriented, high-performance leadership culture.
• Oversee training, qualification, and continuous development of production personnel.
  
  

Collaboration with Supply Chain

• Work closely with supply chain departments, especially production planning, scheduling, logistics, and material management.
• Ensure optimal use of resources along the entire value chain.
• Support efficient order scheduling and ensure timely deliveries.
  
  

Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives

• Implement Lean principles, continuous improvement programs (CIP), and digitalization initiatives with a focus on the semiconductor industry.
• Analyze production KPIs (OEE, scrap rates, changeover times) and initiate improvement actions.
• Contribute to cross-site development projects within the Elos Medtech Group.
  
  

Experience: Technical Expertise Meets Leadership Strength

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
• Several years of leadership experience in a CNC manufacturing environment, ideally in a regulated industry (e.g., medical technology, aerospace, automotive).
• Deep understanding of machining technologies, production planning, and lean manufacturing methods.
• Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration, particularly with supply chain and quality departments.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, assertiveness, and strategic thinking.
• Fluent in German with good command of English for international coordination.
