We at lifespin GmbH are excited to announce a PhD position in collaboration with the Technische Universität München (TUM), as part of an industry-driven research initiative.

The focus of this position is the development of AI foundation models that learn to understand the intricate structure of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectra of human blood – much like today’s Large Language Models (such as ChatGPT) learn the structure of human language.

One of the central goals is to extract meaningful health information directly from spectral data. The project seeks to establish new standards in computational metabolomics – enabling biomarker discovery, advancing personalized health monitoring, and improving clinical decision making.
