Department: CDO CoE PM APP6 System Environments / Online Assessment

Location: Germany (hybrid: min. 70% remote, occasional on-site in Bonn/Meckenheim)

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Project Manager (P9) to lead and manage medium to complex IT projects related to the setup of system environments for development, integration, and testing of service-specific IT solutions. This role involves managing end-to-end project delivery in alignment with BWIs internal requirements and customer expectations, including stakeholder coordination, quality assurance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of complex IT projects, including project mandate, handbook, methodology selection, and implementation
• Create, manage, and finalize project plans, including milestone tracking, team and resource coordination, and budget responsibility
• Develop and manage project documentation and reporting according to BWI standards
• Conduct lessons-learned workshops and implement improvement actions for current/future projects
• Manage internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, service providers, and material acquisition
• Define project organization and lead the project team
• Perform ongoing risk and quality management activities using BWI tools (e.g., R2C)
• Independently identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions
• Plan and implement quality assurance activities in compliance with BWI and public sector standards
  
  

Education

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, IT Management, or Engineering)
  
  

Certifications

• Valid PMI PMP, IPMA Level D (or higher), or PRINCE2 Practitioner
• Valid ITIL Foundation certificate
  
  

Languages (CEFR)

• German: C1 (fluent required)
• English: B1+ (preferred)
  
  

Professional Experience

• 5+ years of experience working with public sector clients
• 5+ years leading complex IT projects with:
• 1 year duration
• 10 project team members
• 2+ years of experience setting up virtualized system environments in high-security settings

• Remote work: Minimum 70% of total work time (on average)
