AI Development Manager (all genders welcome)

We are a technology-driven company with several innovative business units in the growth phase. Despite having centralized elements, we maintain an agile, start-up spirit. Our central AI development department plays a key role by providing AI expertise for various interdisciplinary project teams. Our technological focus lies on AI-powered processing of large sensor data sets – for example, using image analysis to automatically detect defects in components or large scale publicly available data for early prediction of defects. Initial AI solutions are already successful in production, supported by a modern MLOps infrastructure. Our development processes are agile, and the infrastructure is cloud-based and decentralized with a standardized tech stack. As we operate in the realm of critical infrastructure, our solutions must meet stringent regulatory requirements for security and reliability.

What You Can Expect

  • You will lead (technical and managerial) and develop the central AI team fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within an agile, lean working environment. You will plan team capacities and expand the team as needed with the right talent
  • You will support existing AI projects (e.g., in image data and sensor analysis) from conception through to successful production deployment and help identifying and conceptualizing new AI use cases
  • You will ensure that AI solutions are efficiently developed, deployed, and maintained on our cloud-based MLOps infrastructure. You will also be hands-on when needed in technically challenging projects, ensuring the adoption of modern AI frameworks within our unified tech stack
  • In our safety-critical domain, you will ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., in the context of the EU AI Act) during the development and deployment of AI systems. You will establish best practices for transparent, reliable, and ethically responsible AI
  • Working within a matrix organization, you will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary project teams and departments focusing on other technology fields. You will understand their requirements and translate them into effective AI solutions while promoting knowledge sharing across the organization
  • You will be responsible for your department’s budget and the strategic planning of resources for AI projects. This includes the selection and management of external partners or service providers, as necessary
  • Reporting to senior management/CTO, you will help shape the overall company AI strategy. Your goal is to embed AI as a value driver within the organization and unlock new business opportunities through AI innovation

What You Bring

To become part of the Rosenxt family, you convince with team spirit and a structured work approach. Moreover you should bring with you:

  • You hold a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field and have several years of hands-on experience in developing and implementing AI/ML solutions – ideally in an industrial setting (e.g., computer vision, large-scale sensor data analysis). You combine theoretical research knowledge with practical experience in production AI projects
  • You have successfully led teams (both technically and managerially) and can motivate, develop, and align your team with shared goals. Experience in project management as well as budget and personnel responsibilities is essential
  • You are familiar with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and have experience in shaping flexible and efficient development processes. You view change as an opportunity and foster a culture of continuous learning
  • You thrive in interdisciplinary settings. You can communicate effectively with experts from other domains (e.g., engineering, product management) and external partners, translating complex requirements into viable AI solutions
  • You understand overall company strategy and can derive a clear AI roadmap from it. You are also able to simplify complex technical matters for management and deliver tangible results
  • You possess broad knowledge of current tools and frameworks in the AI/ML domain (e.g., Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, cloud services, databases) and have experience with MLOps (CI/CD for ML, containerization, model monitoring). Experience with distributed cloud systems is an advantage.
  • Ideally, you are familiar with the challenges of deploying AI in critical infrastructure or highly regulated environments (e.g., data management, model validation, audits). You act responsibly and maintain a strong focus on quality
  • Fluent English is mandatory; knowledge of German is advantageous

Look forward to

  • Development opportunities and career opportunities in a global, innovative and long-term oriented group of companies with family character
  • Flexible working time and Home Office possible
  • An open, informal corporate culture, where we celebrate success with social events
  • Compatibility of work and family through our company-owned day care center
  • Employer funded pension, capital accumulation benefits and discounted insurance offers (occupational disability insurance and other direct insurance policies)
  • Company Restaurant (only in Lingen)
  • Various in-house sports activities (EGYM Wellpass and other offers)
  • Attractive leasing offers for IT-products and bikes for private use
  • Corporate Benefits - employee offers in changing online shops at top conditions
