We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer (f/m/d) to play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the Operations agenda and daily business. In this critical position, you will be instrumental in translating complex operational and technical challenges into structured analyses, clear recommendations, and executable initiatives. This role offers a unique blend of strategic and ad-hoc problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, cross-functional project leadership, and executive-level communication, all aimed at enhancing performance across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, quality, and procurement.

Job Responsibilities

As Strategic Assistant to the COO, your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of strategic, operational, and project-based activities, including:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Support the COO in developing, executing, and monitoring strategic plans and initiatives for the manufacturing division, ensuring alignment and progress across sites.
  • Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Identify areas for operational improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains across manufacturing facilities, driving the implementation of best practices, Lean methodologies, and data-driven decisions.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Act as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, preparing high-quality executive presentations and decision Prêt-à-porterers for senior leadership, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
  • Project Management & Initiative Leadership: Lead and manage critical cross-functional projects and initiatives from conception to completion, taking end-to-end ownership of selected COO priorities.
  • Team & Culture Development: Support the COO in fostering a positive work environment, assisting in talent development initiatives, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Ad-Hoc Support: Handle a variety of ad-hoc tasks and special projects as directed by the COO with flexibility and a proactive approach.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, industrial strategy, or operations transformation roles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proven capabilities in project management and cross-functional leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); familiarity with ERP/MES systems is a plus.
  • Fluent in English and German (both written and spoken) is essential for effective global communication.
